MASSAGE THERAPY IN OTTAWA, ON
Massage therapy is a manual therapy that targets tissue and fascia to reduce pain and muscle soreness. It works on improving circulation in areas that require more attention to function optimally. We also know that in addition to impacting movement and posture of the body, massage helps to reduce stress and increase relaxation.
Massage can be done for relaxation and self-care, or can be done on a more scheduled approach to target a key issue.

Therapeutic massage
Therapeutic massage is a general term to refer to more the traditional approach to massage therapy that supports the body with pain and stress relief. Therapeutic massage is helpful for relaxation but can also be directed at a particular concern such as acute and chronic pain.
Prenatal massage
Pregnancy can be accompanied by a lot of added stress on the back and hips. Massage therapy can bring relief to expectant individuals dealing with hip, neck, upper back pain and lower back pain. It can also help with leg cramping, swelling of hands & feet, joint pain, and overall fatigue or feelings of anxiety. A prenatal massage is also an opportunity to take a step back and enjoy a quiet space for yourself
Total TMJ Treatment
This treatment uses deep tissue massage techniques to alleviate muscle tension & pain in the head, neck, shoulders, & face. Following the deep tissue work, your practitioner will put gloves on and do some work on muscles that are located inside of the mouth. Your therapist will use gentle pressure to begin, and slowly work up to your tolerance level. The work done inside of the mouth will be done outside of your bite line, meaning you will be able to keep your mouth comfortably resting closed throughout the treatment. The intraoral massage addresses specific muscles located near your molars, and also addresses the muscles lining the cheeks, and lips. Some people report some mild discomfort at the beginning of the treatment, but soon find that it feels quite relaxing.
